Who photographs the photographers?

This is just wonderful. Wedding photographers from the 1960′s, captured for all of time doin’ their thing. I love that woman’s hair. Hell, her whole outfit just screams “style”, she’s so cool.

I don’t really think this needs any further explanation.

I Am Murloc

You know, I don’t really do the whole World of Warcraft thing. I like the RTS games, no doubt, though I preferred Starcraft, but after playing ten hours as a Tauren and consistently having to run for my life from ostrich-things, I don’t expect to ever try the game again. However, this video makes me glad the game exists, if only for allowing a band to call themselves Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain. Frankly, the song’s pretty damn rockin’ too, and I say this as a fan of the metal genre. It’s certainly superior to some of the sludge Cannibal Corpse have shuddered out.

Hell on Earth: Colour Photos of World War I

Fallen Ally

Wow, I don’t even know what to say about these. Painstakingly hand-coloured, these photos show the battle of Paaschendale as never seen before. One of the most brutal battles of the first Great War, over a quarter of a million Allied soldiers died between July and November of 1917. Over 54,000 of the dead have no known graves, just an arch with their names engraved on it. The photos show the Belgian countryside turned into swamp, a festering wasteland of death. Back then, war really was Hell.

Dignified, vagina, and other three-syllable words

Dignified

XKCD comics never fail to amuse, and the most recent is better than usual. Plus, it gets bonus points for allowing me to use the word “vagina” in the post title.

Ghetto Wine & the 40 oz.

Wild Irish Rose

It’s painfully obvious at this point how fresh and new this blog is, however, it’s actually an extension, a branch, if you would, from my LiveJournal account. I just decided I wanted something a bit more robust for my newsier posts, possibly with a bit of collaboration. I do love skimming through my old posts, clicking on years-old links to see if they still work. On this note, I was greatly pleased to find that the 40 oz Crew is still rolling along. I mean, when it comes to ugly white kids getting hella drunk on shitty beer, these guys take the cake! My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I’m pretty sure that’s the same site design they had five years ago. From that lovely locale we move along to the intriguing BumWine.Com, a petite little site which gives you some background information on the top five tipples of homeless alcoholics, as well as a smattering of other hooches. But wait, there’s more! Both Ghetto Wine and Bad Beer provide their own whimsical, badly-coded takes on the cheap stuff.

Personally, I’m a whiskey man myself.

Steampunk Monitor Mod

This… this is just a thing of beauty. I mean, its a steampunk LCD monitor. What more does one have to say? Now that I’ve seen this, all I can do is stare at my boring, run-of-the-mill PC screen with nothing but disdain. Seriously, it’s that fucking cool. I won’t even get into the fact that the creator has a matching keyboard; my heart just can’t take the lust.

Victorian slap fight!

Rose & Camellia

I think the kids at Kotaku hit the nail on the head with their description: Greatest Game Ever Made. Rose & Camellia is a Japanese flash game set in a household in the Victorian era. You play a common-born girl who has married into a noble family. Unfortunately, your husband dies the very next day (what a wedding night!), and your evil bitch in-laws want to cut you out of the party. The only solution? Slap them till they break! I’m trying this on my Wii as soon as I get home…
